Central serous chorioretinopathy is a well known and generally a self limiting disease. Retina pigment epithelium defects and atrophies are sources of visual loss in the relapsing attacks. Choroidal neovascular membrane formation is a rare finding and can be responsible of severe visual loss during the course of the disease.
A healthy 39 year-old woman had a 1-week history of decreased vision in her right eye. She had a three-disc-diameter central serous macular detachment of sensory retina and a deep gray-white membrane and subretinal hemorrhage superotemporal to the macular detachment. Early angiograms revealed hyperfluorescence of superotemporal juxtafoveal membrane and the leakage increased in size and intensity as the angiogram progressed. Late angiograms demonstrated pooling of fluorescence in the serous retinal detachment. After the diagnosis was confirmed by ICG the juxtafoveal membrane was covered with Argon laser photocoagulation ..
