FİGEN BATIOĞLU
Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Ankara/TURKEY Proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) is an important cause of visual loss in diabetes. Anti-VEGF agents which have been used successfully in diabetic macular edema (DME), has emerged as a promising treatment in PDR. This review summarizes the results of anti-VEGF therapy for vitreous hemorrhage, neovascularizations unresponsive to PRP and before PPV for tractional retinal detachments. Keywords : Proliferative diabetic retinopathy, neovascularization, vitreous hemorrhage, pegaptanib, ranibizumab, bevacizumab
