Micropulse Mode Yellow Laser Photostimulation in the Treatment of Chronic Central Serous Choriorethinopathy: Preliminary Results

The treatment of chronic central serous choriorethinopathy (CSC) is a challenging issue, and severel theraphy methods are currently available. In recent years, non-visible micropulse mode laser photostimulation treatment has been increasingly used in macular diseases. In micropulse mode, the laser energy is delivered as short pulses train to the targeted area. The 577-nm yellow wavelength is ideal for chronic CSC and other retinal applications for reasons including its highly selectivity to melanin and hemoglobin, minimally absorbed by xanthophyll and less scatter. The results of small series of the patients with CSC treated with the yellow laser have been very encouraging. In this article, we report our first and early results of 2 cases (3 eyes) with chronic CSC treated with micropulse yellow laser. Micropulse laser theraphy seems to be a promising treatment modality for the eyes with chronic CSC. Keywords : Micropulse laser, yellow wavelength, central serous choriorethinopathy
