Macular edema is usually the main underlying cause of the visual loss that occurs in different clinical conditions. It is an important manifestation of diabetic retinopathy. In addition, cystoid macular edema is a common and frequent clinical condition with multiple causes. Therefore, diagnosis of macular edema becomes an important clinical issue. In this paper different diagnostic techniques in macular edema were discussed. Keywords :
