Maculopathy in the Pathological Myopia

Pathological myopia is characterized with the axial length elongation in association with various chorioretinal and especially macular changes. Tigroid appearance, diffuse and patchy chorioretinal atrophy and lacquer cracks are among the important fundus findings of pathological myopia. Besides these, macular subretinal neovascular membrane, full-thickness macular hole, dome-shaped macula and intrachoroidal cavitation are among the other macular features of pathological myopia.
