Anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Therapies for Central Retinal Vein Occlusion

Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy is a safe and effective treatment for macular edema associated with Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) in the short term. Anti-VEGF therapy delivered earlier in the course of CRVO favorably affects visual prognosis. The availability of anti-VEGF treatment for CRVO macular edema represents an important advance in the clinical management options for this sight-threatening disease.
