Purpose: Assessing the efficacy and the sensitivity of biomicroscopic indirect ophthalmoscopy and fundus photography of two fields with 50 degrees apart as a method for diagnosis and classification of the Diabetic retinopathy .
Method: In 116 eyes of 75 diabetic patients the two-field fnndus photography method is compared with the biomicroscopic indirect ophthalmoscopy.
Results : The two methods showed 62.5% correlation in the detection of the clinical findings and 83.3% correlation in the classification of diabetic retinopathy.
Conclusion: The two field fundus photography and biomicroscopic indirect ophthalmoscopy is regarded to be a dependable and an effective method in diagnosis and classification of the clinical findings of the diabetic retinopathy. classification of diabetic retinopathy, fundus photography, biomicroscopic indirect opthalmoscopy
