This study was carried out of fiftyone eyes of the patients who have exudative or non-exudative Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and healthy volunteers. Conventional ophtalmic examination, Fundus Photography, Fundus Flouressein Angiography (FFA), Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP) were performed all of the patients. FFA was not taken in healthy volunteers. P100, N75, N145 latencies and N75/P100, P100/N145 amplitudes were measured from both Flash and Pattern VEP and the results were discussed.
In exudative and non-exudative AMD groups P100 latencies, N75/P100, P100/N145 amplitudes were found significantly different than healthy volunteers whereas the other results were similar. Finally, to evaluate VEP in AMD patients may be important for monitoring these patients.
