High Buckling Technique In Congenital Retinoschisis Complicated With Retinal Detachment

GATA Haydarpaşa Eğitim Hastanesi Göz Hastalıkları AD. 14 cases of retinal detachment complicated with congenital retinoschisis were operated by using external drainage of subretinal fluid, sterile air injection in to the vitreous, cryopexy and high scleral buckle technique. Retinas were flat in all of the cases. Retinoschisis cysts collapsed in 72% of cases and in 28% failed. While preoperatively in 57% of cases had a vision of perseption to projection, and in 43% hand motion, one year after. Postoperatively, in 57% of cases have a vision of counting finger, and in 43% 4/20 to 14/40. We have discussed the surgical indications and techniques in the treatment of retinal detachment complicated with congenital retinoschisis.
