Clinical Features Of The Optic Disc Melanocytoma

Cumhuriyet Üniv. Tıp Fak. Göz Hastalıkları AD. Melanocytomas of the optic disc are benign pigmented tumors occurring within the optic nerve head. The optic disc melanocytomas are detected on a routine ophthalmoscopic examinations and are typically described as a flat or slightly elevated dark black mass. Melanocytomas are thought to be predominantly stable lesions with no malignant potential. In this paper, we present two cases of melanocytoma of the optic disc which were follow up in our department and discussed the clinical and fluorescein angiographic finding with the relevant literature.
