SB Ankara Hastanesi Göz Kliniği We presented 2 cases with Schwartz syndrome, a combination of uveitis, high intraocular pressure, and retinal detachment. In Schwartz syndrome the rod outer segments, flowing from the subretinal space through the peripheral retinal break into the aqueous humor, cover the trabecular meshwork, and cause the decrease in the outflow capacity. The condition is resistant to corticosteroid theraphy and glaucoma responds well to surgery. Schwartz syndrome should be considered in the differantial diagnosis of retinal detachment with high intraocular pressure.
