The Following and Treatment of Complications of Conventional Retinal Detachment Surgery
Hülya GÜNGEL
Abant İzzet Baysal Üniv., İzzet Baysal Tıp Fak., Göz Hast. A.D., Bolu Regmatogenous retinal detachment is a disease that triggers proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Trauma and inflammation hasten the formation of this complication. Processes carried out during the application of conventional retinal detachment surgical techniques, such as intense scleral massage, cryotherapy, laser photocoagulation, subretinal fluid drainage, and their complications are factors which stimulate PVR and cause its pathology to continue. With the application of correct solutions, anatomic success reaches 100%. The purpose of this article is to assess what can be done in the face of complications by reviewing the latest literature. Keywords : Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, conventional surgery of retinal detachment, pneumatic retinopexy, complications of scleral buckling
